Claudio López-Guerra joined the Department of Political Science and the program in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law (PPEL) at the University of Richmond in the fall of 2019. He previously taught for eleven years at CIDE in Mexico City. He specializes in the normative study of democratic institutions and general issues in ethics and public policy. His work has appeared in journals such as Philosophy and Public Affairs, The Journal of Political Philosophy, and Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He is author of Democracy and Disenfranchisement: The Morality of Electoral Exclusions (Oxford University Press, 2014) and co-editor of Rationality, Democracy, and Justice: The Legacy of Jon Elster (Cambridge University Press, 2015).
