Dr. Terry L. Price
Professor, Coston Family Chair in Leadership and Ethics

Dr. Terry L. Price specializes in leadership ethics and moral psychology. A philosopher with grounding in psychology, Dr. Price focuses his teaching and research interests on applied ethics. He also studied politics on a John M. Olin Fellowship at the University of Oxford. In addition to teaching leadership ethics, he has taught business ethics, medical ethics, and contemporary moral issues.

His  book, Leadership Ethics: An Introduction, focuses on everyday leadership and provides a moral analysis of the reasons leaders give for breaking the rules. Dr. Price is also the author of Understanding Ethical Failures in Leadership, from Cambridge University Press. He is co-editor of The International Library of Leadership and The Quest for Moral Leadership: Essays on Leadership Ethics, and his work has been published in Business Ethics Quarterly, Leadership Quarterly, A Quest for a General Theory of Leadership, Encyclopedia of Leadership, Journal of Value Inquiry, Journal of Political Philosophy, The Leadership and Organization Development Journal and American Philosophical Quarterly.

In 2005, Dr. Price launched the Jepson at Cambridge program and leads students to Cambridge University’s Emmanuel College each summer where they study leadership and the law.

During the 2006-07 academic year, he was visiting associate professor of philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a fellow at the Parr Center for Ethics. He received the University of Richmond's Distinguished Educator Award in 2004.
